Carefully Screened and Prepared Professionals
Every direct support professional completes a multi-stage selection and readiness process before being assigned: verified employment history and references, multiple interviews assessing experience and judgment, required background and credential clearance checks, orientation and service-specific training, a minimum 80% score on competency assessments, and person-specific training before working independently. Staff who don’t meet the standard receive additional instruction before being assigned.
Prompt Referral Response
We acknowledge and begin reviewing every referral within 24 hours. Our intake team communicates with the individual, family, support coordinator, and other authorized team members to understand the requested service, support needs, preferences, location, authorization status, and desired start date — with a goal of identifying a compatible staffing option within five days once required information and authorization are available.
Thoughtful Staff Matching
Successful services depend on compatibility, trust, communication, and mutual respect — not just availability. After pre-employment screening, we invite the individual and family to meet or interview proposed staff before final assignment, and their feedback is considered. When a proposed match isn’t suitable, we work with the team to identify another qualified option.
Person-Specific Skill Building
We don’t use the same support approach for everyone. Services are based on each person’s assessed needs, authorized support plan, preferences, strengths, communication style, and desired outcomes. Staff train on the person’s specific goals using modeling, instruction, prompting, repetition, practice, reinforcement, and gradual reduction of assistance, with progress documented and reviewed along the way.
Dedicated Quality Assurance
A dedicated quality assurance team monitors whether services are delivered consistently and in accordance with applicable requirements — reviewing documentation, monitoring training and credential compliance, evaluating implementation of support instructions, following up on concerns and corrective actions, reviewing incidents and feedback, and identifying opportunities for improvement and regulatory compliance.
Collaborative Support-Coordinator Communication
We view support coordinators as essential partners. With appropriate authorization, our team responds promptly to requests, participates in service-planning meetings, provides updates and documentation, communicates concerns affecting health, safety, or progress, collaborates on strategy changes, and follows up on agreed action items — keeping the individual at the center of every decision.
Incident and Risk-Management Oversight
Structured incident- and risk-management processes protect the health, safety, rights, and well-being of the people we support. Incidents and risks are reported, reviewed, addressed, and monitored, using the 5 Whys root-cause-analysis method where appropriate. Our teams review patterns to identify opportunities for retraining, procedural improvement, and additional safeguards.
Language Access and Inclusive Communication
Language should never prevent a person or family from understanding services, participating in decisions, expressing concerns, or exercising their rights. We follow applicable language-access requirements and arrange qualified interpretation, translation, or other communication assistance, providing information in a language and format the person can understand.
