DD Supportive In-Home is appropriate for individuals with developmental disabilities who need assistance with everyday activities but continue to live in a home setting. A person may need help learning how to manage household routines, prepare meals, complete personal care tasks, use community resources, or handle other responsibilities that arise during the day. In a Virginia home, support is provided around these real-world activities so the individual can participate in them with the appropriate level of assistance.
How It Works
Support may be provided while the individual is:

What to Expect
The support professional works alongside the individual during ordinary routines rather than separating skill development from everyday activities. Depending on the task, the individual may receive instruction, reminders, prompting, supervision, or direct assistance while completing the activity. Support can take place in the home and, when included in the authorized service, in community settings where the individual needs assistance applying these skills.
